Semana de luto no Quénia por desastres em que morreram 142 pessoas
O Quénia começou hoje a respeitar uma semana de luto por dois incêndios em que morreram pelo menos 142 pessoas e que foram considerados uma consequência de pouco respeito pelas regras de segurança.
As bandeiras estão a meia-haste e todas as cerimónias oficiais foram canceladas, para mostrar bem o quanto o país ficou chocado pelos desastres verificados desde quarta-feira, dia em que 27 pessoas morreram no incêndio ocorrido num supermercado da capital, Nairobi.
O mal-estar acentuou-se sábado, quando 115 quenianos foram vítimas de uma desesperada corrida ao combustível derramado por um camião acidentado perto da cidade de Molo, na província de Rift Valley, parte ocidental do país. Um cigarro fez atear as chamas, que envolveram a multidão, tendo deixado para além dos mortos duas centenas de feridos.
Detidos suspeitos de sequestro, roubo e agressão em Chelas
A Polícia Judiciária deteve duas pessoas suspeitas de terem sequestrado, roubado e agredido um jovem casal, num caso ocorrido em Dezembro último na zona de Chelas, Lisboa.
Os detidos, um casal, de 17 e 23 anos, ambos sem profissão e suspeitos dos crimes de sequestro, roubo e ofensa à integridade física, foram presentes a primeiro interrogatório judicial, tendo-lhes sido aplicada a medida de coacção de apresentações periódicas semanais às autoridades.
Segundo a Direcção Central de Combate ao Banditismo (DCCB) da PJ, que conduziu a investigação, os "autores dos factos obrigaram o casal sequestrado a permanecer nessa condição, numa habitação que possuíam na zona oriental de Lisboa, durante toda uma noite, tendo aí sido agredidos fisicamente".
"Para o efeito, utilizaram objectos cortantes - que foram apreendidos - e com os quais causaram várias ofensas corporais", adianta a PJ.
